What To Expect...
Welcome to the Beechwood Chiropractic Clinic! At your initial visit, our office staff will be happy to greet you and give you the chiropractic intake forms to complete (completed online for massage therapy). The forms include information about what brings you into our office, your health and family health information, as well as a pain diagram to complete.
Your Doctor of Chiropractic or Registered Massage Therapist will then escort you to a treatment room where they will go over the intake forms to gain a detailed health history and your reason for seeking treatment.
Following the history, a focused examination will be carried out to help diagnose your condition(s) and devise a treatment plan. In most cases, you will receive your first treatment on the initial visit to our office.
Note: Please expect to be at our office for 55-75 minutes for your initial visit.

Examination Procedures
The examination is a focused process that helps your practitioner to determine what the cause of your complaint is, details about your condition, to diagnose you and to determine an appropriate treatment plan. In order for the doctor to treat you, he or she needs to fully understand how your body functions as a whole. In particular, they will focus on your spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system.
During the exam, you can expect part or all of the following:

- an analysis of your posture
- an analysis of your joint movement, identifying restrictions and areas of improper motion
- orthopedic testing to help determine the cause of your complaint
- neurological testing which may include a test of your reflexes, strength and skin sensation
- a check of your blood pressure
- referral for x-rays when indicated
